Bill "Billionaires should be hunted down and shot" Burr is Parenti-posting on main. You love to see it, folks. sicko-wholesome

[–] hexaflexagonbear@hexbear.net 66 points 4 days ago

He’s always been cool, but last few months have been genuinely surprising.

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 86 points 4 days ago

I bet he could riff a really good bit out of "They're not under-developed, they're over-exploited." timmy-pray

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 75 points 4 days ago

My 10+ year Bill Burr guilty pleasure is all coming together nicely.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 69 points 4 days ago (2 children)

He should mask off and just start saying "Hear me out, communism" like Frankie Boyle did. They've both got the same working class leftwing no-nonsense controversial shtick.

[–] tocopherol@hexbear.net 74 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I could hear it so well on some podcast, "Fuckin why not communism? They say arm the workers, take the factories from the capitalist pigs, use our profit for what we actually need instead of the leeches taking it for their yachts or whatever. Tell me what's wrong with that."

[–] context@hexbear.net 9 points 4 days ago

i bet he'd make for a good stare-at-the-camera shot back-to-me

[–] Satanic_Mills@hexbear.net 38 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Frankie 'friends with David Baddiel' Boyle? He was more than happy to go two feet in on Corbyn, anyone with any platform in this country defaults to the compatible left.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 16 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

Yes. And yes he was shit on Corbyn. He bought into the antisemitism crap fully and wholly.

There are lots of people who advocate for communism that aren't good at analysis and aren't perfect. He does so just about as openly as anyone can.

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Frankie Boyle literally pivoted away from the crimes of Israel to talk shit about Corbyn. And then he wrote fucking think pieces about how actually all the people who smeared Corbyn are to blame for Keir Starmer being a shit. Until he apologizes or someone punches him in the face I can't move past that.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago

Yeah I don't blame you for that either

[–] Satanic_Mills@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You can buy 'I'm literally a communist' jewelry from the Novara store, the same people who employ the likes of Aaron Bastani.

On an island where most of the self professed 'communists' are terfs its worth being critical about who they associate with and why.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

I didn't say not to be critical of them? I feel like you're not actually reading what I say. I agree with you.

[–] Satanic_Mills@hexbear.net 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I don't see the value in any/critical support of opportunists like FB, especially if trying to radicalise people.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 4 points 3 days ago

Half the userbase of this site only exists because of Bernie Sanders and you don't see the value opportunists can have?

I think you should take a step back and look at things in a holistic way. Big picture.

He has to do a training arc to unlock that transformation

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 60 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)
[–] Des@hexbear.net 27 points 4 days ago (1 children)

hey that's my sicko i didn't give you permission to use her

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 26 points 4 days ago (1 children)
[–] Des@hexbear.net 24 points 4 days ago

sicko-power much better!

[–] Des@hexbear.net 51 points 4 days ago (1 children)

the further his ex friend Rogan drifts right the more based Bill Burr becomes

but seriously if anyone was looking for a "normie kind of dumb gen X guy socialist" there's your guy. right there.

[–] CthulhusIntern@hexbear.net 44 points 4 days ago

I also love how he completely catches the "fuck your feelings" crowd off guard. He looks and sounds like one of them, so when he says left wing stuff, they don't even know what to do.

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 45 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Bill Burr subreddit doesn’t have any hits for Parenti yet

Let’s get the Parenti posting goin folks!

[–] Cowbee@hexbear.net 47 points 4 days ago

You love to see it party-parenti

[–] Cimbazarov@hexbear.net 45 points 4 days ago

Coincidentally i was having a shower thought this morning about the similarities between Bill Burr and Michael Parenti

[–] dannoffs@hexbear.net 42 points 4 days ago (3 children)

I'm more impressed that there are Communists in Surprise, Arizona lmao.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 32 points 4 days ago
[–] pr0kch0p@hexbear.net 18 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The spark that begins the collapse of the American empire and a communist revolution will come from the west valley. A surprising (ha!) amount of revolutionary potential exists in the Aves.

[–] dannoffs@hexbear.net 6 points 4 days ago

Well, the revolution sure as hell isn't coming from the east valley.

[–] Sinisterium@hexbear.net 13 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

The american socialist party used to score the highest in Oklahoma, Nevada, Montana, Washington, California, Idaho, Florida, Arizona and Wisconsin.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 3 points 2 days ago

Bill Burr: "Yeah... Parenti, man. I bet he'd never skip leg day."

[–] Azarova@hexbear.net 33 points 4 days ago (2 children)

is there an xcancel equivalent for instagram?

[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 31 points 4 days ago

Not really, unfortunately. All the ones that work are closed source I think.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 27 points 4 days ago

All right, kids, listen up. Its Uncle Billy's time to read you'all a beddy time storey.

We're gonna start with Mao's Little Red Book...

[–] jack@hexbear.net 29 points 4 days ago
[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 26 points 4 days ago

Liberal Joe Rogan? What about Socialist Saul Goodman?

[–] iie@hexbear.net 17 points 4 days ago

it's not surprising to me that a comedian might like Parenti, on top of his insightful perspective he has good delivery and he's often funny

[–] MineDayOff@hexbear.net 17 points 4 days ago

I got to say, Bill is proof that statistically not all things are going to suck and might take you by surprise.

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 13 points 4 days ago

Bill Burr is gonna make it.. I knew he had the potential but I never had any hope because the hollywood types always let you down

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 8 points 4 days ago
[–] Feinsteins_Ghost@hexbear.net 11 points 4 days ago
