This movie already exists and it's called Real Steel (2011)

[–] Blep@hexbear.net 9 points 3 months ago

The only thing i want from vin diesel is another Riddick movie. Preferably without him even in it.

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 8 points 3 months ago

I like him as Riddick tbh

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

I don't know, that Hannibal movie he's been pretending he wants to make for a while could be fun.

I hope it's going to be in the Barbie Extended Universe so-true

He really went with ”One Race Films” for the name of his production company?

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I googled and googled and I could not find an official answer. Here's an obscure Reddit thread...

Why did Vin Diesel name his production/film company "One Race Productions"?

I think it might have to do something with his race. He has black ancestry and he couldn't get roles in the beginning of his career because he wasn't black enough to play a black guy and he wasn't white enough to play a white guy.

Maybe so, the company was established in 1995 in the beginning of his career. Around 5 years before any Fast & Furious movies.

Rant: Fuck google.

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Hmm, I guess it makes sense for it to be an ironic name for a company started by a mixed race person (Diesel never met his biological dad and was raised by a black adoptive father, although his biological dad's background is unknown).

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I know much of anything important about him but I assume he's a good guy. Yet he gave one of his companies a very shitty name and over decades many people surely told him was terrible but for mysterious reasons or at least reasons google doesn't know - he refused to change it.

[–] robot_dog_with_gun@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

but I assume he's a good guy.

there were some allegations a few years ago but i never saw any followup

lathe-of-heaven The studio will at least attempt to astroturf another "chicken jockey" moment around Vin Diesel saying "you knocked his block off!" or something to that effect

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

"you knocked his block off!"

I just realized something. That will probably be the theme of the tv series comedy spin-off.

They already made this movie, it was called Real Steel

[–] 666PeaceKeepaGirl@hexbear.net 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I think they should make a movie called "Dice" about the guilt two twin brothers have to live with after their repeated doubles shenanigans result in a thimble being unjustly imprisoned without even getting to pass Go. It will star Dwayne the Rock Johnson and Robert Downey Jr and it will be worth every penny of its $3.6 billion budget

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

With a special guest appearance as The Man Who Usta Be Dice by Andrew Clay. Clay will say his two minute appearance was done as a "favor". He'll demand $500 million but the studio will talk to him down to $75 mil. A bargain really.

I'm into this if and only if the treat it like a serious sports movie, but the robots look exactly as brightly colored and goofy as the toy.

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Do you think vin's gonna be the red robot or the blue robot?

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

Dunno. But I bet he's going seem like he's about to lose but he'll Dwayne Johnson his opponent in the end. Johnson puts him winning all fights into every movie contract he signs.

Vin Diesel? I sure hope it has one.
