I remember when Ford blocked Tesla from using the name "Model E" and elon was visibly upset, like the mental 6 year old he is, that the best he could do was S3XY. I chuckle about that pretty much every time I see a model 3.

He is certainly stuck in a teenage mindset. Like trump wanting Greenland because he didn't get his Nobel peace prize.

Seems to be a billionaire trait of being a wounded child and never getting over it.

[–] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 35 points 5 days ago (2 children)

In the case of Greenland, I suspect Miller and Thiel want it for their own purposes and Trump is so far gone they're just telling him something that will stick in his demented brain.

[–] apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 17 points 5 days ago

This is absolutely correct. Billionaires stroking the ego of a fucking narcissistic racist dipshit president to amass more is definitely going on.

[–] user_name@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

Miller probably wants to build a gulag system with non-citizen and, let’s face it, probably a sprinkling of black and brown citizens as well, to do some slave labor resource extraction. Somebody read the One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich and took it as a handbook and not a warning.

People stop growing once they gain enough power or ability to avoid it. Elon seems to really resonate with the people who don't have friends and live in their parents' basement because both have an adulthood defined by not needing to mature as an adult and not having the internal drive to do it anyways. Nobody can make him feel ashamed for acting like an 18 year old because even if we shame him he can look at his wealth and justify why he's better than us.

[–] CanadianCorhen@lemmy.ca 44 points 5 days ago (2 children)

is.. that why they are named that?!?!?

The model s, the model 3, the model x, the model y.... REALLY!>!>

[–] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 26 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

It is at least why the model Y and the model 3 got their names. I think the model S was named by Tesla's founders and the X may be just because musk has been obsessed with naming things that since PayPal (if not before).

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 22 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The 3 was supposed to be an E but but Ford owned the naming rights.

[–] CanadianCorhen@lemmy.ca 21 points 5 days ago

But the goal was to make.. the naming was supposed to spell out SEXY... that's so embarrassing.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 11 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

he "peaked" as a 12yo.

[–] Harvey656@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Its not terribly often that I agree with Ford... Jesus Musk sucks.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 day ago

these decades will be remembered as "that time when merely being a soulless corporation was a good thing"

"If Books Could Kill" podcast has 2 episodes looking at a biography book on Elon. Its amusing to listen to.

This is almost worse than people with Monster Energy logos on their chest. Almost.

I cannot fathom why anyone would want to put corporate slop on their body. What a way to show everyone around you that you lack any sort of clue.

[–] neo2478@sh.itjust.works 21 points 4 days ago (1 children)

This is definitely worst. It's glorifying the business of a literal Nazi.

[–] J92@lemmy.world -2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Oh I don't know this. Who is this?

[–] DerisionConsulting@lemmy.ca 9 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

The tattoos are of the Tesla logo, which is owned by Elon "does nazi salutes during his speech at the podium during a presidential inauguration" Musk.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/1/31/is-elon-musk-a-nazi-and-can-he-get-european-far-right-hardliners-elected

[–] J92@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Sorry, I thought they meant the monster energy company also had a nazi. That is my bad, I apologise.

Thank you for providing sources, though!

And I used to think this was horrible.. But some people (Reddit) thinks it's a fun and unique way to advertise

[–] heftig@beehaw.org 3 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

An imprint like this lasts maybe a minute. At worst, it's a harmless gag in bad taste.

[–] zebidiah@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 days ago

You'd have to be pretty stupid to mess with a coupla guys like that....

[–] binarytobis@lemmy.world 30 points 4 days ago (3 children)

About ten years ago I was going to get that one One Piece tattoo with a very close friend because we had bonded over the show and wanted to be close for life. It was a simple “X” on the forearm.

He kept laughing it off when I tried to actually coordinate getting it done, then one day he showed up and had it done alone because “he didn’t think I would do it”. Clearly didn’t want me to follow suit either.

It’s probably for the best because now it would make people think I simp for twitter and Musk. Also that guy turned out to be a real piece of shit and we no longer speak.

Just claim Xorg is best window manager!

[–] steeznson@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Xorg is a display manager; emacs is the best window manager, email client, irc client, web browser, tetris implementation, elisp runtime environment/dev environment... it might edit text too but idk.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

You'd also have everyone and their mom asking if you were straight edge.

[–] RIotingPacifist@lemmy.world 28 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Bad taste, bad execution!

[–] Washedupcynic@lemmy.ca 13 points 4 days ago (1 children)

When you want the world to know you're a Nazi.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 8 points 4 days ago

Carve a Swastika into their foreheads.

[–] lena@gregtech.eu 31 points 5 days ago (1 children)

branded for life

This is so weird, they're not livestock[^1], are they?

[^1]: I'd just like to clarify that branding animals is a disgusting practice that should be banned

[–] Viceversa@lemmy.world 16 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I'd just like to clarify that branding animals is a disgusting practice that should be banned

There's cold branding. It's painless.

[–] lena@gregtech.eu 12 points 5 days ago

TIL, thanks. Hot branding should be banned then

[–] Lileath@lemmy.blahaj.zone -4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The animals getting murdered isnt painless though

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 day ago

when done right it is, bolt straight to the brain killing them instantly.

like come the fuck on, why would you complain about the slaughtering process rather than the abjectly miserable conditions the animals are kept in? They spend their entire lives in agony, and you think the moment they're finally granted the mercy of death is the problem?

No, this stinks of either stroking your own ego or outright being astroturfing.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 23 points 5 days ago

On their right arms, too, so the tattoos will show when they do their “Heil Hitler” salute!

[–] lividweasel@lemmy.world 22 points 5 days ago

If I met one of these in real life, I’d tap the hamburger menu to see more options.

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 22 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

Ew.

Can’t decide if this is better or worse than matching swastikas.

[–] CIA_chatbot@lemmy.world 24 points 5 days ago

Pretty much equal

[–] Goodlucksil@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Worse. Swastikas were legitimately used by some people. It may be acceptable for a buddhist living under a rock to tattoo a swastika

No one's that ignorant. I think you'd be surprised not about how people outside of Europe and the Americas just don't care, which is fair enough I suppose, but how often Indians in particular will just straight up praise Hitler.

[–] Ceruleum@lemmy.wtf 6 points 5 days ago

It's all computer!

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

Those are certainly some permanent life choices. I bet they can forget about those tattoos if they take enough ketamine.

[–] TomMasz@piefed.social 3 points 5 days ago

Hey ladies, if you're not doing anything with your uterus, Elon could use another baby mama.
