The Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO) is a communist political party in the United States. FRSO formed in 1985 as a merger of several Maoist-oriented New Communist movement organizations.

In 1985, the Proletarian Unity League and the Revolutionary Workers Headquarters merged to create FRSO. In 1986, FRSO fused with the Organization for Revolutionary Unity. In 1988, FRSO absorbed the Amílcar Cabral-Paul Robeson Collective.

FRSO's component groups believed that ultraleftism was the US New Communist movement's main error. Merging under the FRSO banner, these groups hoped to consolidate the movement's remnants in a single organization and move beyond the sectarianism that marked the previous decades.

1999 split

In response to the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, FRSO began to develop two distinct positions on socialist countries. The "Left Refoundation" group, aligned with democratic socialism, argued that these events resulted from a deep crisis of Marxism. The "Fight Back!" group, aligned with Marxism-Leninism, argued that these events resulted from revisionism rather than failures within Marxism. These divisions grew during the 1990s. In 1998, the Left Refoundation group wrote an internal document, "Theses on Left Refoundation", and requested an organization-wide discussion.

Both factions claimed the name "Freedom Road Socialist Organization". In 2006, the Left Refoundation group renamed itself to "FRSO/OSCL", combining the English and Spanish acronym. In 2019, the Left Refoundation group renamed itself to Liberation Road.

Publications

FRSO's main publication is the website and monthly paper Fight Back! News (FB!N) and its Spanish section Lucha y Resiste.

Congress

The 9th Congress of FRSO, held in spring 2022, came at a critical juncture in the development of the people’s struggle and the accelerating decline of monopoly capitalism in the U.S. As the call to the congress states, in the recent period “we have seen a level of struggle that is unprecedented since the 1960s. The great rebellion following the murder of George Floyd, which was both broad and militant, signals the shape of things to come. It can be said the burning police stations helped illuminate the road to freedom. The fight against police crimes led to a resurgence of the African American national movement.”

Companies will blatantly do shit that's against labour laws and act like you're the asshole for reporting them after they fuck you over.

Not reporting them while i worked there was the courtesy i extended them. Why the fuck wouldn't I spite their asses after?

The radiologists who rented out the restaurant i work at last night are now my favorite customers ever. They dropped 8k just to rent the place out and get food, I think it covered some drinks. 30% gratuity on the 8k already in the tip pool, so that's nice. Then, it turns out that radiologists fucking PARTY and after I left the guy organizing and bankrolling the event dropped an extra 20% tip so they could stay super late and keep partying. They left at almost 1 am, we typically close at 10pm. In addition he made sure there was 20% tips on the extra liquor. So thats over 4 grand in in tips. To feed 65 people, and it meant we were closed on a Friday so it was probably half the amount we'd normally have to feed and they ordered days ahead so we had an easy attack plan. It's too bad the fucking owner was there or we could have hooked them up harder. She ended out telling the chef thst next time they should get 9 inch pizzas instead of full size cause they had leftovers. Like, bruh, they dropped 8 fucking grand. Let em bring home some hangover pizza.

made some bread

i’m a beginner baker so it’s nothing terribly special but i’m especially happy with this one since it’s the best tasting loaf i’ve made so far, but also because i think i’ve nailed down a recipe and process for making a loaf that requires very little effort or thought (autolyse and cold ferment do the heavy lifting) to make something breddy gud

I read some of the new Epstein files, specifically the journal of a victim.

The USA is Satan's embassy on this planet and a nuke for every square kilometer is not enough.

[–] videogame@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

The Epstein files are horrific and I don't want to downplay that, but at least they eternally BTFO /pol/. Whenever some /pol/ chud says anything now you can just completely disregard it as an Epstein psyop. I do genuinely think this revelation will shift the discourse a little. Should at least make them too embarrassed to infest other places.

I cannot stress enough how much the rich have the mindsets of children. Seriously, I can’t be the only one who’s noticed this and there’s probably theory lying about addressing this.

As decades go on, it’s absolutely blowing my mind how much lower rich people’s pain threshold is. What would just be all in a day’s work for them in the 70s is WAY too much for them now. Even getting a job, the rich whine about how they have too many choices and how they’re soo scawed widdle babbies everyone wants to work for them and they can’t keep up! Dude, you want to be the businessman? You want “traditional roles” how about you hold up your end of the bargain and be a boss. Assign me work to do. Stop waiting on me to order one of your friends to order you to hire me and then I explain the job I want to you and train myself for you. Thanks for at least showing your ass the world would be a much better place without the aristocracy. Useless pigs.

Elon Musk is the worst offender, literally a masterclass on how fascism is just losers acting on their own emotional impulses: ethics be damned.

The weirdest epstein thing to come out recently IMHO is not the dancing video, is not the print out with drug prices sold at his island, it's not that he was banned from xbox live, it's that the Norwegian crown princess was helping him set up girls.

Genuinely what does that generation of royals in Norway have to do to get the Norwegian to embrace republicanism?

Bank of America originated as the Bank of Italy. Founded by Amadeo Pietro Giannini in San Francisco on October 17, 1904, it was designed to serve immigrant, working-class populations often overlooked by traditional banks. The Bank of Italy officially changed its name to Bank of America on November 1, 1930.

The funniest thing about prison camps is that even though Western media loves portraying them as super bad and evil, and where evil countries put their prisoners, the literal definition is that they're less strict and have less dangerous prisoners than an actual prison. Generally they do labor, but so do most normal prisons.

Often they're even run by prisoner, with guards just being along the perimeter and keeping them inside. I don't think this is common in the US, but a lot of prisons around the world have elections and prisoners with positions of real power in the prison. People with real leadership outside of prison generally can't run, but still, it's quite common and a right that's only taken away for big bads.

Redditors are starting to learn why revolutions so often have the style of justice they do (regarding murders and abuse by feds): Reddit comment exhange and upvotes as follows: "That evidence is going directly into the fucking shredder now, guaranteed. And In 2029 when all these people are on trial for their crimes, it's going to be "we don't have any record of that.""" +198 "That's okay. The tribunals will set their own rules of evidence." +55 "Thanks for this comment. It's nice and optimistic to imagine holding people to accountability for their crimes" +22 "I'm so beyond caring. Man, Hexbears search function sucks. I can never find what I'm looking for, and often it shows my stuff outside of the bounds I specify. Time in particular, it just shows me from whenever despite time limits on both sides. I've tested it, even have a really big time window, like 3 years or something, and with words that I copied from the message, and my first result will be outside of the time window, have only some but not all of the words, and not be the right thing.
