Property rights are human rights

Not unless your property are--oh ... OH!

60K Income you're the global 1%

Still can't afford a house.

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@hexbear.net 30 points 1 month ago (2 children)

what’s the difference between a billionaire and a millionaire?

about a billion dollars

If the 1% are all millionaires, society as a whole is one hell of a lot more equal.

I’m still in favor of eating the 1% until there’s no longer a 1% /s

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Billionaire meat is nice and tender, due to the daily massages.

Hear that Oligarchs? Keep up with your daily massages, we're planning a big feast.

Don't worry, you'll be invited.

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

I don’t eat meat, but I’ll make an exception. witch-nom

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Start with the richest and eat our way down until we solve wealth inequality and climate change, ezpz.

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

That was the basic intent, but last time I suggested it a couple libs/chuds decided I absolutely must mean it literally and want there to be no more than 99 people.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 50 points 1 month ago

Oh, they actually fucking did it

taken-seriously

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 44 points 1 month ago (2 children)

What the fuck even is this? Lol

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@hexbear.net 39 points 1 month ago

I think I saw another post about it the other day - some sort of pro-billionaire rally for the temporarily embarrassed.

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@hexbear.net 16 points 1 month ago

Here’s the thread I was thinking of: https://hexbear.net/post/7535660

"Property rights are human rights"

I refuse to believe that person is not there to just make them look silly.

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 24 points 1 month ago (1 children)

ask them if they think all humans should be given property then

[–] Johnny_Arson@hexbear.net 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I got a feeling that is what they were doing tbh it feels like something one of us would do as a bit/counterpropaganda

Blue shirt is Derik Kauffman. The organiser. A 26y/o 'AI tech CEO'.

Seems like Pickme behaviour but for billionaires

60K Income You're the global 1%

That's not how any of this fucking works picard

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 9 points 1 month ago

Claims to be the side of ‘economic geniuses’

ignores inflation when it’s convenient.

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Don’t you know that the prices of goods and services are exactly the same everywhere on earth?

[–] Edamamebean@hexbear.net 23 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

60k income? You're the global 1%!

So they support measures to end unequal exchange and redistribute the wealth of imperial core countries back towards the global south right...? anakin-padme-2

[–] lil_tank@hexbear.net 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Also what does 60k means when you pay 30k for a broken arm. A European making 25k or a PRC citizen making 10k probably has the same buying power (wet finger estimations don't quote me on that)

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

Beat me to it. They love self-coronating themselves as professors of economics, but will ignore inflation when its convenient.

Most economics are postmodern nonsense, if only we had something more MATERIAL…

[–] StillNoLeftLeft@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

I love how obvious it is that all the signs were either made by the same person or machine made somehow.

Looks most spontaneous and genuine, lol

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 16 points 1 month ago

"We're going to find out who paid for those..."

"Probably some billionaire."

"Oh, well, okay then."

[–] Philosoraptor@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago

Extremely disappointed to see that I was right and this was not a bit.

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago

Reminds me of those libertarians protesting mtgox during one of the first big bitcoin crashes

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago

Who’s next?

wall how-compelling You. You’re next. In line. Now please look into this lens here.

[–] volcel_olive_oil@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago

it just seems like a bit! like they're doing a cursed bit! and standing behind a handicap parking sign, making sure it's visible!?

Curb-ification

Two things:

  • A. They didn't say where in California to keep the billionaires (I'm thinking at the bottom of a pit)

  • B. H o l y s h i t this protest is so fucking white. Like seriously, if you look at them without sunglasses you'll go blind.

[–] corvidenjoyer@hexbear.net 9 points 1 month ago

flashbang but in protest form.

Are they at some parking lot at the edge of a cliff or something? Who the fuck goes to the top a cliff for a demonstration? More importantly convenient location in case somebody wanted to adventure-time with a little push

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

Interesting T-shirt choice by the woman on the right:

Are you deep enough in the timeline to know exactly who Aella is? Do you thrive in the weird, wild overlap of polyamory discourse and meme culture? Then this shirt was made for you. It’s bold. It’s niche. It screams “terminally online,” but make it fashion.

This shirt features a tongue-in-cheek slogan that blends alt-internet references, polycule humor, and a wink to the chaos of modern relationships. It’s perfect for sparking conversations (or ending them quickly, depending on the crowd).

[–] 30_to_50_Feral_PAWGs@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Also in the polycule:

Don't ask what the buckets are for.

“Billionaires build prosperity!”

The so-called ‘economic geniuses’ crowd thinks income inequality is good for the economy LMAO.

[–] comfy@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 month ago

You're not an ultracapitalist, Harry.

[–] CommCat@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

either some performative art, or as someone else stated here previously, some assignment by some marketing degree dweeb to sell something to the masses that is impossible. Or maybe these are genuine bootlickers extraordinaire
