The account is an example of how artificial intelligence is being used to push political agendas in wartime

MAGA has been swooning over photos of a blonde U.S. Army soldier, walking defiantly alongside President Donald Trump to carry out the America First agenda. But there’s just one problem — she’s AI.

Images most likely generated by artificial intelligence depicted Jessica Foster wearing heels on a U.S. warship in the Strait of Hormuz, posing for selfies with Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and giving a speech at the president’s “Board of Peace” event earlier this year.

The account, which has since been taken down, gained more than one million followers since its mysterious creator started posting on it four months ago, The Washington Post reports.

Do military women really wear that kind of uniform with fragile pantyhose? And high heels aboard a warship? That alone would make me call BS.

What is a woman?

Is this a woman?

[–] Dojan@pawb.social 118 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This might have too many rights to be a woman.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 37 points 1 week ago

They definitely give this way more power than they would any woman.

A woman is clearly the opposite of man so thusly I propose that a woman is a feathered quadruped.

Any MAGA who fell for this is beyond stupid (plus utterly unfamiliar with the military). Her uniform is wrong (skirt WAYYY too high). No one wears dress uniforms underway at sea in general, ESPECIALLY an enlisted soldier (who would likely be nowhere near a ship, even more especially in dress uniform). The ribbons on her dress uniform not only change from picture to picture, but are also the wrong size (sometimes) and not even actual US ribbons. I've never seen a regulation name tag say "US ARMY" and not a name. The undershirt in her camis isn't regulation. And this was just a quick look at the photos and only tangentially around the Army at work.

Oh and that's before the visible glitches because it's AI. This is laughably low effort.

EDIT: Damn, they didn't even use a real ship as the background. It's supposed to be a destroyer, and there are no US destroyers with an aft-facing bridge or part of the superstructure forward of the bridge windows. Just truly WTF

EDIT 2.0: I just saw a couple other photos because I got curious. One has her as a one-star general 😂, and a couple others have her wearing a (shitty looking) Combat Infantry Badge, which is only awarded for being in combat. So, I guess women CAN hack it in combat! Hegseth must be in shambles.

The only thing that stood out to me was the high heels and skirt instead of proper trousers.

[–] My_IFAKs___gone@lemmy.world 75 points 1 week ago (1 children)

She's hot and it's pro-Trump. Why should they care if it's real or not if it tickles their...confirmation bias?

[–] starik@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago

Yes, people are really overthinking this. These are enthusiastic Trump voters. It’s not like they voted for Trump, but are otherwise intelligent, rational people in all other respects. The same disordered thinking that led to their voting choices impacts every aspect of their lives.

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 11 points 1 week ago

Even without the technical knowledge of military uniforms, one look at any of these and my mind is just screaming "probably fake".

IDK why exactly.

I think it's mostly that she's so young and beautiful and doesn't have that vapid dead-behind-the-eyes look that most MAGA women do. She looks like a happy vivacious young woman, not like a highly decorated military officer.

IDK how to say this but if women like her actually existed we would already be overrun with real photos of them in the oval office.

The other red flags that don't require technical knowledge that trip the "probably fake" alert buzzer:

Who takes a selfie with POTUS in the oval office?

Why is she wearing a crop top that looks like it's from cost-co?

Why is she standing around on a ship in high heels looking serious?

Why is she walking around on a military base with Trump without the usual entourage?

if you're stupid enough to believe this... you're stupid enough to be a Republican.

Believing is one thing, but in what world do you join the army or support terrorism because there is some hot chick there?

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago (6 children)

You gotta remember how dumb some folks are

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 5 days ago

Then remember they are even dumber than that.

[–] Whats_your_reasoning@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Ah yes, high-heeled shoes on a wet deck while leaning on the railing of a giant, moving ship. What could go wrong?

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 week ago (3 children)

So maybe it's because my brain is currently fried from overheating and just getting done with work, but is it just me are the proportions off? Like the head is too big for the body, probably miss matched training data.

How many of the accounts that followed this one were actually bot/“AI” accounts designed to do nothing but help boost shit like this to a place where the press reports on it?

[–] TheKaul@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Yeah no way I'm believing 1 million real people followed this account. Would be hard to believe even if it said 10,000

The pic of her in a vehicle with her bare feet sticking out the window appeared to show her with three boobs under her shirt, her right side boob having it's own seeming cleavage.

[–] Janx@piefed.social 18 points 1 week ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (5 children)

Without seeking it out, I've seen 2 versions of the referenced image: that one, and one with 2 boobs. Hopefully they were fooled by the lesser alien-looking one...

Does it really matter? These people were detached from reality long before AI was a thing. These are the people who swallowed horse dewormer to fight off a virus, stormed the capitol to hang their own party's VP over election fraud that never happened (but that they are now actively preparing themselves), and attacked a pizzeria to save children from the clutches of pedophiles (all the while ignoring their idol's ties to, and probably involvement with the crimes of, pedophile child trafficker Epstein).

We must come to grips with the fact that a significant part of the U.S. population is living in an alternative, media-generated universe. Baudrillard would be laughing his arse off if he could see it. The question is: how to deal with that.

These MAGA freaks are just perfectly positioned to be scammed with AI, aren't they? Blind patriotism/nationalism, easy to manufacture images of the stereotypical people they hate, rejection of science and facts, unshakable loyalty to the Pedophile-In-Chief, zero critical thinking skills, intense tribalism, single echo-chamber source of "news", love for a pretty, white face, low intelligence, etc. I know some of them have already fallen for scams, but I bet it's nothing like what we'll see in the future, most likely by other Republicans...

[–] dizzle18@lemmy.zip 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sometimes I really wish I had the time and energy to get in on this grift. These dumbfucks are the easiest people on the planet to rob. I just need a truckload full of shitty, Chinese made MAGA merch and a stand at some county fair, and I’d be fucking rich. Unfortunately, I have no desire whatsoever to be associated in any way with these fascist shit stains. The money is just not worth having that stench rub off on me.

LOL, "America First agenda".

Just what the holy fuck does that even mean according these dumbasses? Because Donvict and his pals are all about America LAST and themselves first.

[–] Frenchgeek@lemmy.ml 17 points 1 week ago

She's the perfect MAGA woman: She can't think for herself and only do what you tell her to. But nice of them to normalize playing with dolls for men.
