"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Ummm, I'm not sure about those pipes...

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 8 points 5 hours ago

Looks like the old socialist realist posters

[–] rob_t_firefly@lemmy.world 6 points 5 hours ago

Not shown: the invasive government-mandated genital inspections these slop-generated plumbers had to undergo before they were allowed in the same slop-generated bathroom together.

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 8 points 7 hours ago

Right now, some MAGAt is replicating this plumbing to own the libs

[–] Amberskin@europe.pub 19 points 9 hours ago

So they have to use an AI to get a picture of a damn sink???

[–] Rivermoonwolf@lemmy.world 14 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

What the hell is a van doing in the loo, anyway?

[–] PartyAt15thAndSummit@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 hours ago

"Quick, get a prompt engineer on it to fix it."

[–] urandom@lemmy.world 15 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

Where's the front tire guys? WHERE IS IT?!?!

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 hours ago

If one object partially obstructs another one, the obstructed one loses details! Every AI knows that!

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 13 points 11 hours ago

Our totally real pipeman is pointing at where it went off to

You don't need front wheels if you have skills.

[–] baggachipz@sh.itjust.works 18 points 12 hours ago

Always disappointed, never surprised.

You would think a federal department would at least check to make sure the flag patch isn't on backwards. The blue field should be leading in the direction of forward movement, dipshits.

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

You can wear the flag any way you want, assuming you aren't in the military and in uniform.

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Sure, you can, but that doesn't make it respectful.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 11 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

americans are obsessed with their nazi rag.
Have to slap it on everything.
Imagine not having one on your plumber uniform or karate kimono.

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Apparently not obsessed enough to make sure it isn't backwards.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago

They can be obsessed and stupid at the same time.
Certainly not uncommon

[–] zoloftt@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I've seen it either way. That's the least problematic part of this whole thing.

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (1 children)

It's in the actual Flag Code, which the federal government should care about. A lot of pop-culture gets it wrong because it looks bad to people that don't really know any better. Of course that's why the AI got it wrong, because it was trained on TV shows instead of the actual regs.

[–] zoloftt@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

I actually can't find anything in the flag code about that. I find a lot of other organizations citing the flag code, and purporting that same point though.

I'm in the military. In the uniform regs it dictates what you're saying. But that's not the flag code.

This doesn't look like it's depicting the military though... Also, pop culture influence doesn't make it a bad thing IMO. Being lazy and avoiding paying artists to produce slop is. Especially when this is supposedly the party of "hard work" and "bootstraps"

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 42 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

What the fuck did they do to that sink?

[–] unemployedclaquer@sopuli.xyz 13 points 16 hours ago

Applied a fuck-ton of torque to them puny sink fasteners!

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 35 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

They are actually stealing all the copper to pay for meth

Their disgusting over use of AI shows that they don't respect human workers anyway; even many of the current republican voters will understand this, and jump ship.

Their overuse of AI imagery shows that they believe in post truth leadership. Trump posted a fucking picture of himself walking with a star wars aliens and passed it off as real.

Then the official disclosure (also lies) described that species as being like 4 feet tall, rather than taller than Trump, showing he has no attention to detail and doesn't even read his own memos.

Can someone actually fucking deal with this deranged despot? The most expensive thing we can do to the Zionist regime in Israel is force them to buy another president. Get Trump out of the oval office.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

Ironically exactly what trump is doing to the government and the right wing to education.

[–] Furbag@pawb.social 28 points 17 hours ago

INSUFFICIENT PATRIOTISM DETECTED. GENERATE ADDITIONAL AMERICAN FLAGS.

[–] umbraroze@slrpnk.net 17 points 16 hours ago

...Nnnot that I want to defend the Soviet Union, but their propaganda poster artists did stuff just like this, except they didn't put absolutely cursed piping things in the illustrations, and this despite the fact the artists were probably hella drunk or something.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 103 points 23 hours ago (8 children)

I feel like a real plumber would look at this, and just say "Now what the hell have you got going on HERE??? NO NO NO NO NO!!!! This is all wrong! Copper pipes aren't meant to be an asthetic! Why are there so many stupidly designed pipes??? And what the hell are you doing to that wrench???? Nooooo, none of this adds up! This isn't real! This has to be a simulation! I'm living in a simulation! A poorly made simulation!"

Then he takes out a gun to kill himself, but it morphs into several tangled copper pipes vaguely resembling a gun and shoots out water.

"THATS NOT HOW PIPES WORK!!! IT'S NOT EVEN CONNECTED TO ANYTHING!!! WHERE'S THE WATER SOURCE???"

[–] GreenCrunch@piefed.blahaj.zone 73 points 23 hours ago (9 children)

love the pipe connecting the two corners of the sink, that's very useful

If we ever get sanity back in this country, can we ban the government from making faux-Soviet propaganda posters with AI?

[–] billnyethescienceguy@piefed.world 6 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

what are they soldering??? whys there solder wire???

[–] bunnyBoy@pawb.social 7 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Solder isn't just used for electronics, it's also used in plumbing. Search 'sweating a joint' if you're interested

[–] billnyethescienceguy@piefed.world 4 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

that doesnt look like plumbing solder nor do they have a solder tool lol

[–] pinball_wizard@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 hours ago

They forgot to take it out of the hover van. In fairness, I would also forget, after crashing through the bathroom wall and having the van tires fly off out of sight.

The pipes and tools are crazy, but I also think we've got some sort of half-hover van in the back? I swear there's a wheel missing, and I don't think the frame is square / straight / structurally sound.

[–] dimjim@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 hours ago

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed lol

Does anyone have the phone number for this company? I was hoping to find someone to install a sink in my driveway.
