I was about to yap about Linux Mint but phew, the rest of the body let me down :(
One of my favorite botany labs way back in yore was touring the greenhouse and sampling all of the different herbs. Absolutely blew my mind how many varieties of mint there are. Eating a stevia leaf was the biggest mind bender though
It has its uses. Not in my main rotation but it's around at work so ill toss it into things sometimes to see how it goes and have yet to be disappointed. It does work with a lot of other things
Mint is a fantastic herb to keep available to plant at all times. If you're ever accidentally allowed unfettered access to a golf course, it's the perfect thing to plant just outside the treeline.

Finally a use for mint I can support whole heartedly
I read half the thread before i realized this isn't about the linux distro at all, pls send help.
Lol I pondered how I might get a joke in about the distro or mintpress news but couldn't and gave up

The kind of food combination that would double the HP recovery in Earthbound
Audacious, possibly visionary, what does it taste like?
Almost had to downvote this

Grow it in pots unless you want a bed of mint
mint oil tends to keep away spiders so thats good
someone else mentioned how everyone whines that it tastes like toothpaste. do people hate personal hygiene that much? i don't use mint toothpaste so i guess i'll never get it but it's like. toothpaste is meant to taste and smell good. why wouldn't you want that but extra sugary?
I fucking love mint, back when I had a mint plant I'd just grab a leaf or two whenever I passed by and munched on them
Got a bunch growing in my garden I couldn't get rid of if I wanted to
Been using it to make THC mojitos
I go fuckin nuts for mint. Like I may be legitimately addicted to menthol but not from smoking. There's something about the cooling effect and the herbiness that just hits right
Turns up a lot in middle eastern salads and Indian dishes. I'm generally a fan, but I find mint sauce is better than fresh mint for stuff like raita.
Also goes great on a bowl of pie n peas.
A small amount is really good in Shiraz so I am not a total hater but it has to be very subtle
If you wanna explore the savory possibilities of mint try levantine and north African cuisine. So much that can be done with mint
Mint is my favorite flavor, bar none. I use it in salads all the time, and in any soups and curries I feel I can get away with it. I always eat a few leaves when I'm prepping it. I'll also eat a tin of mint candies in a sitting. Any kind of mint, any time. I'll take it all.
Mint ice cream on a hot summer day is pretty good.
Oh yeah I love mint in sweets
I think it's great for people just getting started with flavours because it's so familiar. And it goes great with cinnamon.
It will honestly do the job for most people, but is also a starting point for those that want to move on to more advanced flavours later
i wish basil grew the way mint does
Grows like a weed I like putting it in a planter on the porch seems to scare mosquitoes away
great for adding a little something something to drinks and dips. Unfortunately it grows TOO well. Love it as an indoor plant because they're hardy and can take some neglect, but I would not recommend planting straight into the ground.
My partner took an internship at a community gardens program last summer and telling the patrons not to plant mint was something they had to do almost daily. I volunteered to help clean the community gardens with them and every weekend was spent pulling mint from the walkways and the beds that had been overrun with it 🫠
gets a lot of hype
Where? I mean aside from all the minty products, most people whine that it tastes bad and reminds them of toothpaste
Maybe I am just around strange people. Most people I know really like mint for some reason
It's alright. Peppermint patties are one of my favorite treats. But i don't go out of my way to have it.
I think it has very specific uses in terms of recipes or things to put it on because of its strong flavor. You can't just add it to a dish to give it a bit more flavor, but it can be good when used correctly. Mojitos, some Mediterranean salads, and mint tea are things that comes to mind. Also, it pairs well with peppers or other hot flavors. Adding, a little hot sauce to something that works well with mint usually is even better, and that does include mojitos.
I think it gets play in cuban and Caribbean cuisine
I use it at work but my brain isn't offering up any memories of "for what" r/n. It's always like going bad when i have something that needs it
yom
Variety makes a lot of difference
Spear?
Pepper?
Licorice?
Apple?
Some of the best candy
Wrong. As evidenced by the fact that they keep trying to trick people into eating mint candy.
supposed to keep rodents away, we spray it in the engine bay of our car and around the outside of it. not sure it works but at least they haven't chewed the wires in a while
thin mints haven't been the same in like a decade
Garbage herb. Whatever good things about it are overshadowed by the fact that it's in fucking everything.
Use with lamb

I meant use with yams
