He really does not understand that he just posted that Obama & Biden were completely sane. No one was questioning their ability to function in the real world. He had 3 MOCA tests to track his ability to function. AKA the patient needs to be assessed often to verify his mental state. This is the stupidest boast, it makes him look even stupider. Give him another MOCA test.

[–] MimicJar@lemmy.world 11 points 5 hours ago

I really think they need to add one last question to the test. "Does the participant understand the test they just took?" It's clear he does not.

They used an unflattering picture of Biden here, but it's funny they apparently couldn't find any bad pictures of Obama to use.

Could have used one with the tan suit.

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 9 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Nah, he looked damn good in that suit and I think that was the problem.

Eating a hamburger with spicy Dijon mustard.

Reminds me of xkcd's "Biden Photos" comic. https://xkcd.com/915/

From way back in 2011, wow!

You don't give a cognitive test to someone you don't think needs it.

[–] Asafum@lemmy.world 15 points 8 hours ago (4 children)

While I agree especially for Obama, I'm not quite sure that holds with "we finally beat Medicare" Biden. Especially towards the end.

[–] MiddleAgesModem@lemmy.world 18 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

More than a little ridiculous to claim Biden's misspeaking during the debate is in any way comparable to "they're eating cats and dogs".

[–] CannedYeet@lemmy.world 5 points 5 hours ago

They're eating cats and dogs was straight demagoguery. It's like the Nigerian prince scams. It was rational for him to say that. Horrible, but rational.

[–] Asafum@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

It was just one of the more well known examples and it is an example of not having control over your thoughts to even form a coherent statement that's relevant to what you were just saying. The whole they're eating cats and dogs isn't a great example as it unfortunately is a coherent statement that he intended to make, it wouldn't make someone suggest you take a cognitive test, they'd just think what we all think about it "you're a lying racist piece of shit peddling conspiracy theories some asshat lied about to suit your narrative."

I'm not trying to defend Trump in any way whatsoever, but Biden was absolutely declining in front of us. Either way, denying it or embracing it doesn't change where we're at so it's kinda pointless to argue. I was just commenting on the statement that there was no reason to test Biden when I think it could have been justified.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Yes, and now it’s happening again only this time the party doesn’t care, no one is able to shore up anything, and the majority of the government apparatus is in serious danger.

“Change is going to happen. Change that we can’t even think of right now. The things will happen and I believe for the best. Hopefully for the best, but I believe for the best.

But things will happen that you can’t even imagine. And it’s going to be very exciting, but the way that’s going to happen is through thinking big.

Nothing great was ever built, think of that. Nothing great was great was ever built without the word momentum at your side. In times of your life, you’ll have momentum. That’s the time you go for it.”

[–] auzy1@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I reckon that was just a brain fart

Happens to everyone.. The difference is that 50% of what trump says is fart

[–] auzy1@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

I was using Trump math for my percentage calculation.

It's a bigly number

[–] Jiggle_Physics@quokk.au 10 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

yes, but this is nothing new. Reagan was basically cognitively absent in a significant portion of his last term, and many believe his wife essentially took the role of the presidency. This has been talking point among democrats for decades now, so there was a lot of "revenge" coping going on with Biden. His cognitive state is not truly known. The books, like Tappers, have provable false information them. However those within the west wing at that time have things against their stated evaluation on Biden's competency. We, unfortunately, have no idea how bad it was, and all the outpouring of statements against him, and in his defense, are too full of intentional disinformation to really know, at this point. I imagine that some years from now there will be information that comes to light that cuts through a lot of this obfuscation, and we will have closer answers. Right now too many parties have interest in it being not known. I think if there was clear records of his decline in the records from the white house, Trump would be parading them around. So we shall see.

TBF I think he was facing some really bad cancer diagnosis and working one of the most public and stressful in existence. He might not have been up for the task rather than not been with it.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago (7 children)

He could actually speak coherently. Are we seriously comparing a couple gaffes with a constant stream of sentence fragments?

[–] RoidingOldMan@lemmy.world 7 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

Biden's final debate performance was pretty awful. Seemed lost a couple times. Nothing like the guy who had debated Paul Ryan years before. It was so bad that he had to drop out.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

He looked like a tired old man in that debate. Good grief, i will never understand why everyone points at that debate as if he wasn't lucid.

He never seemed "lost", he seemed hoarse.

Biden definitely was given a MOCA, probably several times. He just didn't brag about it

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 95 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Hes so damn dumb he thinks it's an accomplishment.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 6 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

My question is, who makes these graphics for him, and how much are they paid?

A gorilla also passed that cognitive test

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 19 points 9 hours ago

Well, not just any gorilla, but yes. She would have been a better president.

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 16 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (2 children)

Hilarious but 0% chance of being real

Edit: What the actual fuck

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 25 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (4 children)

It’s real. Regrettably, reality crossed over into idiocracy a long time ago.

Dude's been bragging about passing MOCAs for ten years now. I'd be interested to know what his actual score was though, because if I'm sure of anything it's that Donald Trump is not a reliable historian.
