I think adopting the smear that Hasan tortured his dog is weird. Like it's so very obviously a lie, and it's very obviously politically motivated by people who support genocide and racism.

Hasan is worthy of criticism, we don't need to trust IDF groupies to do so.

Edit: On a meta level it's also kind of creepy. Like people either didn't believe this or were willing to overlook dog torture until they disagreed with him politically? That's messed up.

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 43 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Yeah tbh idrc about or know anything about hasan. The dog thing definitely felt like a smear campaign though and I don't particularly buy it. Just thought the meme was funny

[–] SickSemper@hexbear.net 35 points 6 days ago

the meme is funny. don’t let anyone tell you otherwise

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 20 points 6 days ago

It's very funny

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 16 points 6 days ago

literally invented wholecloth by gigantic zionist, Destiny's business partner and man who took investment funding from Diddy & Ashton Kutcher, Dan Saltman.

Saltman is on record/was literally clipped coming up with the narrative as a way to defend Ethan Klein when people pointed out he killed his dog by overfeeding it cheese

[–] Snort_Owl@hexbear.net 34 points 6 days ago

Hasan exploded Kaya with an anti aircraft gun its true I was there

or were willing to overlook dog torture until they disagreed with him politically

This is basically how western politics go, either full condemnation or full support, it's of no coincidence we have such huge trouble explaining the idea of critical support to them.

[–] Kefla@hexbear.net 11 points 6 days ago (11 children)

Doesn't Hasan eat animals? And don't most of the people criticizing him for casting Lightning Bolt on his dog?

It's a completely absurd criticism for that reason alone. If you eat animals you don't get to be against the torture of animals lol

I feel like I'm taking loopy pills. The guy was literally an ex blackwater merc and marine in iraq, had a death's head tattoo, and a slew of other things, and people are like "waow I can't believe he did this scumbag stuff!"

[–] FALGSConaut@hexbear.net 29 points 6 days ago

Literally the first thing I heard about this dude was that he had a Nazi tattoo & that he worked for blackwater, I knew he was a piece of shit off the bat. Imagine my surprise when there were leftists advocating for him

[–] ConcreteHalloween@hexbear.net 51 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Can we stop spreading the dog zapping bullshit

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 20 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It's a joke he himself leans into with his soundboard, I don't think this constitutes suggesting he really did shock Kaya.

[–] ConcreteHalloween@hexbear.net 9 points 6 days ago

I don't watch his streams shrug-outta-hecks

[–] InexplicableLunchFiend@hexbear.net 10 points 6 days ago (2 children)

nah hasan gets zero sympathy now. he gets the charlie kirk small face gaslighting treatment

[–] ConcreteHalloween@hexbear.net 55 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Hot take, I think risking getting blown up by Pete Hegseth to deliver aid to Cuba forgives some of his sins.

[–] spectre@hexbear.net 46 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (3 children)

He also supported Palestine on and before October 8 2023 at great personal cost, he has supported Iran through the entire conflict as well. He has been very supportive of China as a socialist project.

His takes on Russia Ukraine are mediocre or sometimes bad.

He offered preference to platner, although his support was pretty tepid and not really at the level of "endorsement" in the way this meme characterizes it. He called it "critical support" and now he needs to own that.

As usual I would like to offer a fair assessment of people and institutions rather than trying to dunk on a caricature of someone (or support a caricature either), but I guess that's not as fun.

He still is misrepresenting the troop thing, so that aspect of the OP is totally deserved.

kinda dressing them up, he regularly jerks it to ukrainian stochastic terror on people that used to be ukrainian in the donbas

[–] NewAcctWhoDis@hexbear.net 8 points 6 days ago (8 children)

I think him saying he doesn't care what Platner did "in service" is pretty damning, unless there's some missing context that radically changes the clip

I'm not moralizing, i'm clowning on a guy who has bad judgment and bad analysis. I don't care about "sins" I care about the way his mind works and the ideology he spreads. Just because he did something good via Cuba does not make his streams any less brain damaging to those watching. Even when he's right, he's often hedging it and giving a ton of ground up for no reason and using the most spurious and silly lib logic to get there. It's really quite something how he manages to be corrrect incorrectly so often. It's clear he doesn't grasp historical materialism or marxism but just follows the Twitter radlib lines of the day (which often are right, but not always, as seen in this Platner scandal or in his Russia analysis or his never-ending Democratic Party electoralism)

And it would be one thing if he was new to politics, everyone starts out a little confused. But he's been around in the politics sphere for over a decade at this point, should have learned these lessons by now, and consistently ignores any criticism from his left. People were warning him about this for months but he kept doubling down on his radliberal ideology of lesser-evilism that he's locked into. Maybe he should try actually listening to those to his left for once. He has huge blindspots that those on his left warn him about, and he mocks us instead of taking us seriously. I will do the same, in kind, to him. I will not take him seriously until he takes Marxism seriously - which means shutting up for once and doing some reading.

I interpret that part of the meme as being a joke, but we shouldn't be sincerely spreading false accusations and it's not based on his status as a Good Guy or whatever, it's because communists have the unique ability to be able to deal in the truth and be honest where liberals and fascists must lie or misdirect, so public trust is important.

Hassan isnt even the worst of these people so many progressives and lefties were doing "not all troops, we'll need them to win the revolution!"

And it's like, this mother fucker wasnt even just a troop (which would be gross on its own). He was a Blackwater thug who talked about enjoying war and he had a Nazi tattoo. This isn't fucking rocket science

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 25 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

"not all troops, we'll need them to win the revolution"

If they actively denounce their past actions and the military while dedicating their lives to correcting their participation in imperialism, both through action and through firm and clear words, then sure I'll take them. If they don't do that? They're still imperialists, fuck em.

Also under this reasoning there is still absolutely no need to be nice to anyone in the military or anyone formerly in the military.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 13 points 6 days ago (1 children)

there's maybe three good yank troops in the last 15 years and one of them self-immolated.

Can we PLEASE stop making fun of my real life friend and boyfriend, Hasan? I'm having lunch with him right now (I'm watching him eat on stream) and it's really upsetting me

[–] Tabitha@hexbear.net 41 points 6 days ago (2 children)

fool-me-once alright sure he's the perfect leftist candidate, but is Graham Fraterner the kind of guy you can drink a beer with?

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 41 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Judging by the claims against him, I wouldn't want to be within a hundred feet of him if he's been drinking

[–] beanlover@hexbear.net 11 points 6 days ago

I don't think a hundred feet is nearly enough

the chat window is amazing

[–] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 16 points 6 days ago (2 children)

This is utter gibberish to me. I have no idea what it is about or who that guy is, and I'm going to move on and see that it stays that way.

[–] InexplicableLunchFiend@hexbear.net 25 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (3 children)

the squishy electoral left of america keeps acting like nazis and endorsing nazis, all the while punching left at actual communists and anti-imperialists and calling them "tankies" and "red fash" or "ultra"

That's for the best. It's deeply American

[–] micnd90@hexbear.net 13 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I never take Platner seriously because he looks like Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley

Not enough emojis in chat to be believable

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 8 points 6 days ago

I thought it was strange there was a post mocking Hasan and it didn't have any comments and/or struggle sessions. Now I see, it was repost of this one. I thought I had finally gotten in on the ground floor of one of these things.
