seriously disapointing performance by the NYPD .., i dont know the rules but they didnt get a single bystander
videos
Breadtube if it didn't suck.
Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.
Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.
There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.
A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.
In their defense, I did not see any black people in the crowd.
Should have painted the target black and the sniper would have 360 no scoped it. Also the dead weight dummy wasn't white, clearly the reason why the pigs struggled.
To be fair even with the power of racism on his side, by the time he started setting up the Chinese sniper had already finished the job
He ain't beating that even if he was the most racist man in the world
Uncle Ruckus would have nailed it I tell ya hwat.
Edit: By the time he hit his target the Chinese team was done lol. Not just the sniper. He hits at 55 and they're out at 56
By the time he hit his target the Chinese team was done lol. Not just the sniper. He hits at 55 and they're out at 56
I know right? I was just talking about how the Chinese sniper had already set up before the pig got up the stairs and took his shot before the pig even got his sniper rifle into position but the whole team finishing before the pig took his shot is just
There's something comic about the way they cut to the top of the stairs after being on B-roll for a painfully long period and HES STILL NOT THERE YET. They hold the camera, surely he's up soon right? Nope
Jesus, I've got a shattered right knee and I'm not in the best of shape and if you asked me to do two flights of stairs I'm fairly sure I could beat that NYPD
To be fair he does have a big rifle on his back.
To be even fairer his job is to run around with that rifle, so he should be able to do two flights of stairs faster than a toddler doing the scary ghost crawl from that Japanese horror movie
I used to do hard core milsim stuff and I can guarantee you even with my broke ass body I could set up and fire faster than that cop. I also wouldn't drop my mag like a fuckin amateur. That chinese dude though holy shit not beating that lol.
To be even fairer his job is to run around with that rifle
At the point where your police snipers have to do mad dashes up 4 flights of stairs into target shots you fucked up badly somewhere else. At the same time, they probably should be able to do it.
In their defense, I did not see any black people in the crowd.
I did. About 1:12 into the video. Green vest, black "SPARTAN" baseball cap, and sunglasses.
Of course, that person might be one of the US team's own people, brought over to cheer them on.
I’ve said this for years. American and Americans have been romanticized by Hollywood about their actual capability.
Once you actually look at their accomplishments a lot of their might falls away.
The only war the US has won in the 20th and 21st century is the one in Iraq, and only if you make an arbitrary cutoff point. They like to brag about WWII as if that wasn't the Soviets doing all the work. WWI? Literally same deal lol.
The US isn't competent, it never was, it's just got enough money it can afford to pay its way out. Like a modern day Roman empire, paying it's way to avoid crisis after crisis while allowing it's internal infrastructure to fall apart.
The US won Panama in the 90s by all means. That's just hard to paint as morally correct or as competent because USA vs. Panama boils down to like coughing baby vs. hydrogen bomb on population sizes alone.
Yeah I wanted to add something about "near peer war" but couldn't figure it out.
Top comment in that thread is just peak
The American sniper hesitated because the target was white.
I am convinced at least 1/3 of cop killings in the US are directly because the cops are too lazy to chase someone or go through the hassle of talking someone down.
Edit: rewatched it and jfc even their sprinting is in unison lol. While the Americans can barely be bothered to lumber over there
Wild difference between the centralized state organized and ran system of the public security forces of the PRC versus the decentralized regional gang system of the U.S.A
It's almost like only one of the two was systematically designed to harm minority groups.
One of the upsides of American police being lionized and given way too much funding and not held to account when they fail is that a lot of their "fighting" prowess is just nonexistent when they don't have six of their friends in riot gear to also beat the shit out of you
Same thing as the IDF.
Same thing almost everywhere. Euromaidan was fascists taking over, but the fights with the police were still educational. Summer of 2020 got taken over by libs, but there, too, were lessons learned.
Cops are top heavy and scared.
Unironically political parties should train in phalanx tactics for mass demonstrations
I'm sure some political groups are doing that
Probably the fascist ones
That chinese team dummy pick up is insane. It makes the dummy look weightless
EDIT: Knock on wood and all but imagine you're wounded in an emergency situation in china and the next thing you know you're on two dudes shoulders, 10m away from were you were a second ago while they sonic the hedgehog your ass out of there
I was confused, was the dummy meant to be an incapacitated victim? Because carrying it over the shoulder with no head support could exacerbate any spinal injuries. I get that this is all show, but I'd hope to goodness in a real situation there'd be more care paid to the victim.
I mean it's the UAE Swat Challenge so I assume whatever scenarios they cook up appeals mostly to SWAT perverts. They're all gasmasking up before entering, I guess the assumption is nerve gas attack or some bullshit where becoming a paraplegic because the chinese cops yeeted you out of the dangerzone so hard your spinal cord fell out still beats death by asphyxiation.
EDIT: Okay they called it a hostage rescue in the serbia attempt so I guess the assumption is this whole thing operates on counter strike logic except you're not limited to the follow command and everybody is metagaming it
Wish I could draw so I could make a kelly-comic about how in the good old days SWAT was all about fighting cultists, and nowadays it's just terror (latest fad) attacks with nerve gas
you mean like the videogames or is there actual SWAT history where their founding moment is like the jonestown cult or whatever?
American police just used to be very worried about satanic cults killing babies. A lot of their training scenarios would revolve around it. Satanic panic type stuff.
There's this fantastic training movie on surviving edged weapons where information about how quickly a person can close 15 feet of distance, is presented side by side with a scenario of a satanic cult doing ritual human sacrifice. It was everywhere.
There's still lots of current day training scenarios that revolve around "satanic cult doing something", but you'd have to go search thru local news for the interviews that mention it, because it's just taken for granted.
love to learn the modern american police finds its roots in like the dastardly shariah police except christianity
Y'allqaeda was the best piece of nomenclature cooked up on twitter and I'm sad it was just used for single militia instead of being descriptive of the religious right as a whole
Yeah definitely. I'm sure they explained the scenario/challenge before, and this clip doesn't rehash it. Also the directive of life > limb probably holds for emergencies as you've described. Thanks :)
Yeah definitely. I'm sure they explained the scenario/challenge before
I don't think they did lmao. The website has 0 information around that and even the VOD somebody else posted here has no info on it in the first 10 minutes, at which the announcer says "I will of course repeat what is necessary to do in the course over the different attempts" or some such. Maybe they reveal the scenario at hour 7.
I don't think any of it makes sense as a "real world" challenge unless you approach this with SWAT team member cop brain. I'm not gonna claim a police sniper rushing up 4 flights of stairs to hit an impressive shot right after, out of breath, isn't tense or exciting or whatever, but it is SWAT Team Member Daydream. For an actual police force, at the point where that is necessary to happen you fucked up. Either on the strategical level for the situation or like layers and layers above on a like "this is a government entity with a mission statement"-level.
This challenge and the entire competition tells you nothing about policework other than how the competing teams would fare if they were thrown into action movie situations. It's impressive displays of skill and athleticism - I mean I don't think I run half that fast as the chinese dummy cops without sharing a bodyweight dummy with somebody - but at it's core it's police porn, not police work.
the burger cop sniper taking so long and fumbling the magazine was very funny though
Absolutely on account of the NYPD is like the 8th biggest military in the world and the best they can send for the SWAT team challenge they voluntarily signed up for to compete in is a team of bozos that gets bodied by half the worlds, going by US premises here, failed state impoverished shitholes teams.
Hahahahaha
Congress will now pass a ban on posting cop competition videos with a $1m penalty
$5 billion well spent lmao
They placed 84th out of 103 overall, and the highest ranking US cops were the San Antonio PD at 28th (China's teams placed 1st, 3rd, and 11th).
Also goddamn that website is fucking awful. How can you make the UX of viewing a table so miserable? A pure HTML table would be 1000x more usable than this JS monstrosity which provides zero additional features beyond the privilege of waiting 5 seconds for the page to load and then having to click every time you want to see the next or previous 10 items.
edit: I just grabbed the JSON and made it a Markdown table because fuck that. It even includes the countries which for some reason is in the JSON but not displayed in the table.

edit: Conveniently, other than Day 5, the order they participate in the events always has China Team B (who placed 1st overall) right next to the NYPD, so you'll only have to skip forward like a minute to see the other team. If you wanna see the contrast across all the events, here's the links:
Day 1 - Assault Event (start at 3:49:57, order is NYPD -> China Team B--also has the extra detail that apparently Trump signed an executive order to allow them to go???)
Day 2 - Tactical (start at 3:50:19, order is China Team B -> NYPD--this is the event from in the OP)
Day 3 - Officer Rescue (start at 8:47:44, order is China Team B -> NYPD)
Day 4 - Tower Assault (start at 19:35, order is NYPD -> China Team B)
Day 5 - Obstacle Course: NYPD (2:42:22, video is a bit glitched out so missing first 30 seconds), China Team B (starts at 11:36:14)
remind me to never fuck around in Kazakhstan
You need a reminder for that?
does anyone happen to know why Kazakhstan is so strong at this and the like? Prob tangential, but I'm reminded of how Kazakhstan consistently produces Olympic medallists in combat sports like boxing and wrestling.
bonus: "CHINA NUMBER ONE!"
What's the timestamp for China number one?
3:57:19
t=14239
Thanks. Just skipped to the end too, and the song is like temu linkin park
It'd be chronologically confused but that song is prime SWAT 4 respect the cops windows movie maker AMV territory
But at what cost?
Had this happened before USAID got cut, then this event would have led to several thinkpieces about how it's actually good American police is incompetent and that this is proof of China being totalitarian.
You know who would have had some great stuff to write about this? 2016 Trump. The current gen just doesn't have the sauce, but you know Moist Donny would have some comment about look at them! Chyna is beating us! You hate to say it, but look how they run, we can't run like that. Not anymore! I could, when I was younger, people would tell me I was the greatest runner they ever saw. But nowadays no one runs like that anymore. Except the Chinese
So, I'm gonna need a remake or a mod for SWAT 4 Gold that sets it in China and lets you fight Falun Gong and shit like that.
