I am not opposed to colonialism.

i-am-adolf-hitler

Fucker's got the geopolitical views of an 1800's British factory owner.

Update:

Segregation enjoyer as well, least racist lemmy.world user

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 61 points 4 weeks ago (3 children)

You know what "Anti colonialism is bad because look how the US turned out" is at least novel

[–] barrbaric@hexbear.net 21 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Ah but the US rebellion against the UK wasn't anti-colonialism, it was just changing who would benefit more from the colonialism.

[–] jack@hexbear.net 9 points 4 weeks ago

It was repositioning the metropole into a former colony, but still keeping the power among colonizers.

[–] MLRL_Commie@hexbear.net 20 points 4 weeks ago

It's the first time in a while I considered, even if only for a few milliseconds, that anti-colonialism is bad. So I have to acknowledge that the commenter could at least surprise me

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 20 points 4 weeks ago

i've seen "US independence was actually bad" but not expanded to all anticolonialism

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 20 points 4 weeks ago

I am not opposed to colonialism.

We make no apologies for the terror. Colonizers get the wall and deserve all the bad shit that happens to them. Seriously, I'd lose my shit IRL if someone said that to me.

libs reading the meme before heading to the comments like

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 52 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh no wonder why it's at the top but there's only like 3-4 comments, they're all from the frothingfash libs that aren't welcome here

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 18 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Yah I was wondering what people were talking about lol. Didn't realize de-federation removed all the comments.

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 18 points 4 weeks ago

It's like a multiverse where we all exist side by side but not in the same universe. It's like there's lemmy ghosts everywhere and they're all libs

[–] Staines@hexbear.net 52 points 4 weeks ago

Lemmy libs should be forced back to Reddit.

The problem with liberalism is that eventually they run out of other people's labor. They should develop their own platform rather than spreading their vile genocidal, classist ideology on the back of someone else's work.

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 48 points 4 weeks ago

I had to search 2 years back into the archives for this one.

I love the energy, but this map makes the severe error of excluding the Baltics from the “shut the fuck up” zone

Edit: just realized this comment is almost identical to one of the comments under it, whoops

How can our eyes be real if Australia isn't real

[–] Aradino@hexbear.net 21 points 4 weeks ago

Australia not mentioned catgirl-happy

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 18 points 4 weeks ago

I'd also include the poles, and a 1d3 on evens roll on Hungary, Romania, and the balkans states

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 36 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

My favorite is the supposed """"leftist""" who thinks China can't be communist because they're taking too long to transition away from capitalism. The timeline given? A decade is "too long."

Motherfucker, Marx and Engles in the Communist Manifesto hypothesized the transition from capitalism to socialism alone would take centuries, nevermind from socialism to communism. You cannot create a classless, stateless, moneyless society without reactionaries undermining you from all sides. Even the United States and France with their bourgeois revolutions saw multiple attempts by the aristocracy to retake their positions.

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 16 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Comments like that make me wonder, if it is so easy, why haven't these western chauvinists done a full communism already? Surely their superior western genes and culture would give them the ability to do communism in months, not years.

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 9 points 4 weeks ago

Exactly lol. They can't even get a donation bin going, yet lecture AES nations about how not communist they are because they won't just push the big, red, "gommunism now!" button.

[–] imogen_underscore@hexbear.net 31 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

"the communist countries are capitalist actually" is my favourite one

[–] axont@hexbear.net 22 points 4 weeks ago

Yeah they don't even believe that. Even if they call themselves communists/socialists they believe communist countries are intrinsically more exploitative than liberal western countries.

Also it's really fun to watch them essentially say "all these Asians think they're communists but they don't understand society like me, a person with a big white brain"

[–] mendiCAN@hexbear.net 22 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

i have a special bark-laugh ive developed for dumbass libs. there are certainly some 'takes' in there that chiloke those yelps outta me... fuck. thry just got that je ne sais quoi balance of equally funny and infuriating

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 21 points 4 weeks ago

One of the biggest things that makes me certain communism is the way forward is every single argument against it is an argument from ignorance or racism. I've never heard an anti-com argument that doesn't boil down around 4ish "answers."

1: "They aren't white, so their achievements don't count" (Usually cloaked in implication rather than outright stated, but there's always an air of "If western europe couldn't do it, no one could." (Usually with bonus mentions of the Nordic countries for good measure))

2: "My grandma's friend's dentist used to have an egg monopoly and they tell me gommulism is bad." (Usually said by people who have rejected every single survey and statistic about socialist countries, but a personal anecdote is obviously far more correct than the aggregated opinions of thousands or millions)

3: "it isn't real socialism because I've got my own personal definition of the term that is inherently contradictory and impossible to meet." (Usually used by western "leftists" who mask their western chauvanism behind impossible standards. Usually overlaps a lot with the first one.)

4: "Saint Karl Marx of Orthodox Marxist Faith said that this wasn't real socialism" (See also: Trots making similar claims with Trotsky.)(Pretty basic stuff here, treating communist theory like some kind of religion or infallible Truth rather than a scientific analysis of class structure and society. The Holy Prophet of Marxism said this, therefore you are wrong and following evil false prophets, like Stalin. Bonus points if they claim that Marx said this or that, when he actually said the exact opposite in his writings.)

I'm sure there are more, but those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

[–] 666@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 4 weeks ago

When my co-workers start ranting about how that America needs to "start making it's own shit and stop relying on other countries!" as if that wasn't the whole point of it's empire.

[–] footfaults@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 4 weeks ago

It's incredibly mild and they are absolutely losing it

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@hexbear.net 11 points 4 weeks ago

lol I started this thread 30 minutes before I left for work. What happened?
