If you ask ten Americans to explain capitalism, nine will simply describe a market economy
the_dunk_tank
It's the dunk tank.

capitalism when market
socialism when state
And then eight of those nine will just describe commerce.
It's true. Friend of mine has a politics degree from a world renowned university and still insists that capitalism existed in antiquity because people exchanged goods for currency.
Graebers “Debt” does a great job of deconstructing this. Econ 101 really creates so many brainworms.
This much better describes gift economies and pre-capitalist societies than it does capitalist ones, where the person giving you a haircut has to pay rent for the chair to a capitalist who doesn't have to do any labor at all.
their life is better because they have the money they wanted
wanted
food cost mony
voluntary exchange
It's not coercion because you can voluntarily choose to starve instead
(This is what liberals actually believe)
radical freedom!
giving money to someone occasionally for a service is not the same as employing them on a daily basis to extract profit from their labor
Yeah but, what if you paid someone to hire them to cut your hair?
Capitalism was invented in 130,000 BC checkmate commies
If you have a Flowbee you can cut your own hair.
It certainly does suck!

The testimonials are everything I hoped for.
Hello, Hope that you are doing excellent, just thought you might appreciate this note here. I purchased this Flowbee I know definitely more than 20 years ago..maybe 25! I used this here the other day and finished my haircut and then usually after every use I turn it on and spray the blades into the unit with some WD-40. When I went to turn it on to do this…….nothing…….it finally gave out and would not turn back on…..is there a lifetime guarantee on these for replacement?? ~~~~~~just joking~~~~~~ With the quality the way it is with most products these days this unit is an ICON…………Needless to say I will be purchasing a new one! Hope it lasts al long as this one did…………….Not Sure but maybe the lubrication after each use prolonged the life. I can only imagine how much money I have save with haircuts!!….and the thing I have always like the best…. is that I cut my hair how.. I.. want it to be and able to be consistent with the spacers each time. Can I get free shipping on the new one for being such a loyal user??….Never know till you ask……………………. Feel free to use this testimonial. SCOTT
Why...do...boomers...type...like...this?
I always though that this was a Wayne's World original joke. TIL, it existed before Wayne's World did.
The music in the marketing video is just incredible, reminds me of totally different sorts of movies circa 80s - 90s.
You can cut your hair with just a bathroom mirror and a dull set of scissors if you're serious about it.
okay but what about the untold amount of emiseration in exchange for that luxury
if your argument can be thoroughly rebuked by just pointing a finger towards slavery you shouldn't post it
"Capitalism is when something other than the government does stuff."
MFW communists are all ancaps because they want a stateless society but don't just want to return to monke. MFW this means I'm an ancap. MFW I have no face.
"My life is better when I force these people to work for me as slaves, and their lives are better because I'm not killing them for resisting. Win-win."
