Quizzes like this are always hilarious because they have questions like:

How much racism is acceptable?

  • a lot
  • some
  • a little bit

Don't forget what if USA wasn't the strongest military? question

[–] edge@hexbear.net 67 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Which of these statements best describes your opinion about the United States?
The U.S. stands above all other countries in the world
The U.S. is one of the greatest countries in the world, along with some others
There are other countries that are better than the U.S.

You're not allowed to believe the US isn't great, just that some other countries are greater. I'm not asking for a "Death to America" option (although...), but "The U.S. is a negative force in the world" or something would be good.

In the future, do you think...
U.S. policies should try to keep it so America is the only military superpower
It would be acceptable if another country became as militarily powerful as the U.S.

You also aren't allowed to believe the US should shrink its military or be surpassed by another, just matched. Actually it sounds like you might not even be allowed to believe the US military can be surpassed.

What a complete joke of a survey.

[–] Tomboymoder@hexbear.net 48 points 9 months ago

it definitely is a nice encapsulation of acceptable thought within US politics.

[–] Pentacat@hexbear.net 18 points 9 months ago

Many of the questions were terrible.

[–] edge@hexbear.net 15 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

This comparison graph is horrible.

The colors are hard to distinguish at a glace and the options are ordered positive, negative, neutral instead of positive, neutral, negative. The same goes for the rest of the questions that have positive, negative, neutral as their options. Just unreadable.

"Outsider Left"

Puts it on the inside

They're really stretching hard to pretend there's no one left of "progressive".

[–] Rojo27@hexbear.net 38 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

It feels like they're mainly calling us out. We're definitely outside libs. The question that isn't answered is who are the indoor libsphoenix-think

[–] dannoffs@hexbear.net 42 points 9 months ago (2 children)

All libs should be kept indoors, outside libs wreak havoc on their local environments.

[–] pinguinu@lemmygrad.ml 35 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Ok so if I say I hate democrats and the US is a shithole, I'm "outsider left". What the hell is the "progressive left" then? Liberal bootlickers?

Progressive Left, on average, rated Democrats 69. The general public, on average, rated Democrats46.

Hmmmm

[–] Pentacat@hexbear.net 8 points 9 months ago

I needed that scale to go into negative numbers.

[–] JayTreeman@hexbear.net 30 points 9 months ago

Definitely a psyop. I'm the most leftist person I know IRL. I got outsider left.

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 29 points 9 months ago

love too perceive politics as a one dimensional axis

[–] propter_hog@hexbear.net 26 points 9 months ago (2 children)

There's no way I'm center left. This is a fucked up poll.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 54 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Read the description in the main poll. They consider allegiance to the Democratic Party as the only thing that makes you left wing, and allegiance to the Republican Party as the only thing that makes you right wing. The symbol loses all meaning, then becomes significant by itself, and the thing it originally represented is now distorted to fit the new significance of the symbol.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 18 points 9 months ago

This is the End of History mfs level of political understanding lmao. It reminds me of chuds that say "uhhh we're not a democracy we're a republic"

Like, okay? Do you know what words mean?

[–] pinguinu@lemmygrad.ml 27 points 9 months ago

Yeah, it is the apex of "electoral-pilled"

[–] LarmyOfLone@lemm.ee 25 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Outside left lol

How the fuck do you answer "How much of a problem is... People being too easily offended by things others say"

It's clear they are going to interpret this as snowflake fascists being outraged at outrage by leftists or liberals about the heinous shit the fascists say.

While there isn't enough outrage about the shit the mainstream says!

[–] EmoThugInMyPhase@hexbear.net 24 points 9 months ago

[–] FungiDebord@hexbear.net 24 points 9 months ago

Your best fit is . . . Outsider Left

cringe

are the people who made this really this stupid? yes. yes they are.

[–] EmoThugInMyPhase@hexbear.net 16 points 9 months ago (4 children)

When taking surveys and they ask if you’re somewhat/very liberal, moderate, or somewhat/very conservative; or “democrat, moderate, republican”, what do you choose?

[–] DengistDonnieDarko@hexbear.net 23 points 9 months ago

i choose to click the x in the top right corner of the browser window

[–] MayoPete@hexbear.net 20 points 9 months ago

Moderate... Both Mao and Trotsky had some good ideas 💡

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 20 points 9 months ago

It wouldn't let me but I probably got the same. They also don't have options nearly "left" enough so they just throw everybody to the left of Bernie Sanders together.

[–] Tomboymoder@hexbear.net 14 points 9 months ago

I also got Outsider Left

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 10 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)
