that's not a tank. that's the all-new Ford Leviathan XL, a recreational vehicle with the latest in pedestrian obliterating technology.

it seats 2 and can fit one mountain bike and three bottles of soda in the cargo area.

it's perfect for taking your kids to little league practice

Better ground visibility than a ford f150

it's just for the commercial, so they can show some outdoorsy guy in muted synthetic fabrics put an aluminum mountain bike in the back and drive up some dirt trail with panoramic overlooks to unload the bike and ride on different trails.

Given the Israeli training, there's a double precedent for violence.

Rachael Corrie again and again

[–] Nakoichi@hexbear.net 22 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Was that the woman they ran over with a fucking bulldozer?

[–] iie@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (3 children)

Yeah. She was standing in front of the bulldozer wearing a fluorescent orange jacket. The driver approached from far away, far enough to see her, and when he reached her she stood up on the mound of earth he was pushing, eye to eye with the cabin. He kept going until she slipped and fell, then he ran her over and dragged her 10–15 meters.

Unlike Tank Man, I don't think the USA would both let me

  • a) Survive, and
  • b) go on to live a happy and free life instead of being imprisoned and tortured forever
[–] DogThatWentGorp@hexbear.net 80 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Here I'll simulate the resulting reddit thread:

"What is this?!?! SOVIET CHINA?!?!"

"In tinyman square, the asians actually killed 60gorillion people. This is why I joined the marines and looted Fallujah. You're welcome, reddit."

"Orange man Russia communism tankysquare confirmed"

Incomprehensible slurs

[–] LENINSGHOSTFACEKILLA@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago (2 children)

This is the most annoying one out of all of them for some reason.

[–] PaulSmackage@hexbear.net 22 points 1 month ago

It's what happens when you combine the Yuri Bezmenov interview, russiagate brainworms, and the ideological hallucinations libs conjure up to make them go "i was right".

[–] OldSoulHippie@hexbear.net 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

In ten years they haven't had a shred of evidence for russiagate except what? Paul manifort gave Russia polling data that everyone had access to?

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 76 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Libs could watch this murder someone and would then finagle an excuse why an event from almost forty years ago in a whole other country terrifies them more than this.

[–] Hexamerous@hexbear.net 51 points 1 month ago

At least it was quick. They ran over his skull without hesitation instead of getting squeezed like a tube of toothpaste from the feet up like the Tinymen at the Square.

Edit: Thanks for the gold kind stranger!

[–] ShimmeringKoi@hexbear.net 28 points 1 month ago

We do it with freedom and transparency (whitely) and they do it with a heart full of evil and control (asianly)

[–] sempersigh@hexbear.net 72 points 1 month ago (1 children)

[–] boiledfrog@hexbear.net 34 points 1 month ago

[–] Flaps@hexbear.net 57 points 1 month ago (1 children)

[–] SexUnderSocialism@hexbear.net 36 points 1 month ago

[–] SteamedHamberder@hexbear.net 57 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Not saying I support a generals' coup, but a military parade where a bunch of artillery is invited to the National Mall would be a really great opportunity for it.

[–] kleeon@hexbear.net 50 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Not saying I support a generals' coup

I-was-saying

[–] TraschcanOfIdeology@hexbear.net 44 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Depends on the general.

Pinochet geordi-no

Traore (so far) geordi-yes

[–] la_tasalana_intissari_mata@hexbear.net 30 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Traoré is a captain not a general

[–] Sphere@hexbear.net 12 points 1 month ago

Well he just got promoted, apparently

[–] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net 23 points 1 month ago (3 children)

I feel like the army wouldn't run over a guy. The cops have tanks and would do it though.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 24 points 1 month ago

Nah... I can absolutely see a driver bumping somebody standing in front of them.

They might not try to get the person under the treads though.

[–] vovchik_ilich@hexbear.net 23 points 1 month ago

Tanks in Tiananmen didn't either, the guy just had a convo with them and left unharmed. All you'd need is pictures of a man in front of tanks, no need for the story after, you can manufacture that

Is this what we're getting instead of the military parade

[–] miz@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] adultswim_antifa@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

When I was younger and a bit more of a lib, I thought it was extremely odd that Chinese people don't know or care about the tank man. It's actually really weird that I knew about it. In another country across the Pacific Ocean, a man stood in front of a tank and the tank didn't run him over once. Good. That's the normal thing. That happens whenever humans are in the way of vehicles of any kind. You might hear about the cases where the vehicle failed to stop or didn't stop intentionally. Someone not being run over is not a very interesting story. But Amerikkka is a land of photographs and films and other fakery, and a powerful photograph can resonate with the Amerikkkan ideology, so the tank man became a real meaningful statement to us.

hillary-apartment is going to call Trump a tankie in response to this. It's going to happen.
