i mean legit if the military is just exclusively deployed to do stuff like this in the U.S. (doubtful with the Iran war possibly coming) we might actually see a lib Carnation Revolution at some point

Honestly this war could potentially be used as a scotch tape measure to hold an angry country together, cause nothing sees greater bipartisan support than wars (against the global South; a war against a Western country would be treated as a grave crime because libs see Westerners as human beings)

Not as fat as you'd think. Walmart wages scale about the same as pay for E-3s and E-4s, depending on the store and position. E-4 wages are like $18 an hour.

These fuckers are even more pathetic than I imagined.
They literally just enlist to SA and murder in exchange for social benefits. They make far less than I expected, and while that makes me happy it also makes me angrier these idiots wreck the world at the command of the wealthy in exchange for basic goods they would get in even better conditions if they just sided with working people. I know they also benefit from living in military housing, etc., but these people are just fucking pathetic.
Far more respect for any working person at a grocery store than these losers.
The only real benefit at that level is that you don't pay for food or rent in the barracks, so if you are disciplined and not addicted to sports betting, you can save all that money, which is why people blow it on a Camaro when they are 22, but then basically have nothing outside of that.
It's also why people in the military get married so young and divorced so often, as if you are married you get to have a little house on base with all your rent and food paid for, but once you make rank and can just live in a house, suddenly living with your wife who you always hated doesn't sound all that appealing any more.
So do something about it
Do any of these folks even know who Smedley Butler is? A military parade in DC is just such a fertile opportunity.

A lot of American soldiers, just like a lot of Americans otherwise, have main character syndrome.
There was a reddit post a while back from some troop who had regrets who really summed it up well saying: "When I enlisted I thought I was signing up to be Luke Skywalker. Instead I realized one day I was just another faceless Stormtrooper."
