Could've just said he looked like a young Christian Bale

He doesn't, but it would have come off less unhinged than this

[–] nohaybanda@hexbear.net 59 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Stolen valour, Bale had to act like an empty husk, Gruesome just be like that

[–] ProgAimerGirl@hexbear.net 19 points 6 days ago (1 children)
[–] nohaybanda@hexbear.net 20 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Is he a ghoul too? Don’t really follow celebrities lives

[–] fox@hexbear.net 46 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Not really. He's spent millions building a large foster care village facility, he's donated a fuckton of money to an Armenian genocide charity, and he's described Trump as a clown who was nevertheless less dangerous than Dick Cheney (during his first term). He's also shared a story about how he once met Trump and Trump seemed to think he was actually Bruce Wayne

2008 terminator salvation. bale blows up on the film's director of photography for getting in the shot.

“What the fuck are you doing? Are you a professional or not? You’re unbelievable. Number of times you’re strolling and fucking around in the background. I’ve never had a DP behave like this. You don’t fucking understand what it’s like working with actors, that’s what that is.”

a guardian article from mid 2009 in which bale apologizes. there is some genuineness, and some clear studio PR angling, going on in this answer, i'll leave it to you to decode, but i'd ask you to pay close attention to the last bit:

idk about you but my tolerance for rich bullshit starts low and gets lower when workplace and home abuse gets in the mix. "he's done too much character acting" is also a cop-out

[–] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 17 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Wasn't that story about the the guy constantly fucking with the lights at a really terrible time and not being very communicative?

Having one bad episode seems pretty fine. If flipping out on an annoying and uncooperative colleague while under a lot of pressure makes you a ghoul, then I'm the lich king.

I'm honestly at the point were i view "he gets too much into character when acting" as a major red flag when it comes to male celebrities. It always makes me think of abusive shits like Kinski or Depp who always play themselves. Not saying this holds true for all method actors, some clearly have more range than that, and i should also stress that i am referring exclsuively to men here. But it is a type of guy and film tends to reward that one.

[–] WokePalpatine@hexbear.net 9 points 6 days ago

Peter Weller had people refer to him as Robo or Robocop on set.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 18 points 6 days ago

Only bad thing i know about him is that he's a Method actor and can be a little intense on set

Just look up what happened during the filming of Terminator: Genesys

I honestly thought Newsom had no chance but after looking at this dumb bullshit, I’m convinced he’ll be president

[–] Beaver@hexbear.net 39 points 6 days ago

This is why the popular kids should never be given power.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 37 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Kamala Harris was too charismatic and empathetic.

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 23 points 6 days ago (1 children)

biden was empathy void anyway so that's right out as defining politician characteristic.

[–] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 12 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Yeah but he had a certain joir de vivre that was endearing

What if instead of carry on my wayward son it was Carrie on my way, Watson and it was a crossover episode of sex and the city where Carrie is Sherlock Holmes and Watson is still just british and they have to solve a crime on the road in front of her house?

[–] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

That's funny though. I like it when people get in on a joke about them

[–] Runcible@hexbear.net 20 points 6 days ago

Him playing along with the zodiac killer joke is literally his only likeable trait

[–] muad_dibber@lemmygrad.ml 25 points 6 days ago

Trying to relate to his constituents.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 27 points 6 days ago

I was going to make the joke "media literacy level: 100" but, in this case it's on point because he is a psychopath.

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 18 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Gavin Newscum reminds me of California Über Alles. Everytime I see him that song plays in my head

[–] backalleycoyote@lemmy.today 8 points 6 days ago

Our stagnation can be deduced from the plethora of punk songs written to criticize politicians in the 70s/80s that are able to swap out whoever they’re referencing with whoever’s currently in office and keep the same complaint. The only progress is the decline.

[–] Sneakytrickyyy@hexbear.net 19 points 6 days ago (3 children)

I just want to let you know that there is an actual possibility clue-freeman might become the next president (if they still do that stuff) because Americans are gullible as shit and he's "not a Republican at least" lol

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 15 points 6 days ago

lathe-of-heaven

Hillary Clinton is a dark horse candidate

[–] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 15 points 6 days ago

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 7 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The biggest advantage Newsom has, and I'm not even joking, is that he looks like a guy who'd play the president on TV.

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 5 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

He looks like a guy who plays the president of the US in a communist movie.

[–] Chana@hexbear.net 14 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

We've tried boomer extravagance. Now let's see edgelord.

Is he trying to tank any chance he has at a '28 run?kiryu-stare

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 22 points 6 days ago

have you considered he tries to be elected in amerikkka?

[–] Dirt_Possum@hexbear.net 8 points 6 days ago

I have to admit, there is something refreshingly honest about Newsom campaigning on how similar he is to a Wall Street millionaire serial killer who gets sadistic gratification from murdering homeless people. You have to admit, the similarities are uncanny, and not just the physical ones. (Cw: sexual violence and extreme abuse of nonhuman animals) I mean, Bateman is also an ultrapriviliged ultraviolent sexual predator who murders women with chainsaws and kills kittens by stuffing them into ATM machines, but so far as we know, Newsom hasn't done those kinds of things yet. But the murdering homeless people though? That is so on-the-nose, there is no way he is unaware of the connection.
