Update: they edited their comment to make it even worse, and added plenty of smuglord

Then they go on to expose themselves as a genocide supporter, while of course claiming they don't but its cOmPlICaTeD!

If you're willing to abandon your ideals for any reason, then you never really had them

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 48 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Right? And this triangulation bullshit rarely if ever has utility value, to boot. What did the Dems get from 30-40 years of triangulation!?

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 53 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Everything the Republicans wanted. Which meant the Republicans had to find new things to want. Meaning it's time for more triangulation!

Roe died under a Democrat government!

Sacrifices for protecting democracy!

Liberals really believe there's no such thing as negotiation, compromise, or long-term strategy. They don't believe in undermining your opponents either. They don't believe in temporarily alliances that only exist so you can screw over your competition later. They will brow beat us about how Lenin said to vote for liberal parties, but miss the part about how he meant voting for parties that are allied with socialist parties.

The only thing liberals believe is abandoning your ideals at the slightest provocation and becoming a standard conservative.

95+% of people on American tv news: "I got an idea here. Biden should move to the right..."

oxjox: "I'm a liberal socialist and I got an idea here. It's something to consider. Maybe you guys haven't thought about it. Biden should move to the right..."

Words mean what I think they mean and not what they actually mean. Why yes I am a lib

[–] panopticon@hexbear.net 16 points 1 year ago

And if you disagree then you're doing a linguistic prescriptivism. Not me though, I would never do that.

On this day, Trans Visibility Day, I will forgive them hexbear-trans buddy-christ

[–] roux@hexbear.net 31 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Why would Biden make Easter illegal for the trans holiday to replace it?

[–] Zuzak@hexbear.net 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You're still allowed to do all the traditional Easter practices, but we're basically just rebranding the holiday to be trans instead of Christian.

[–] nohaybanda@hexbear.net 16 points 1 year ago

The hose aren’t your grandpa’s Easter eggs

Problem is that 99.9% of the time what they think will be “whatever it takes to get votes” means moving economically to the right, mostly the same on social issues, perhaps a bit more xenophobic, and amp up the militarism. The uncomfortable reality for libs is, the “abandoned ideals” position that would peel off votes from republicans in many area of the country would be beerniecrat economics but with strong gun rights.

The larger issue though is that a lot of voters aren’t turned off by the particular positions but because they see democrats (with good reason) as being shifty and untrustworthy. A few pivots here and there a couple months before the election won’t fix that. Which is part of the problem with this “vote blue no matter who,” constantly chasing the current cycle politics, there’s never any long-term planning.

Quick, everyone link your specific niche ideology's Wikipedia page

I'll start https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_International_Posadist

There's no Wikipedia page for Marxism-Satanism-Animeism no how many times I create it

[–] GenderIsOpSec@hexbear.net 23 points 1 year ago (1 children)

a standard liberal going through the political ideology section on wikipedia:

"I’ll have two national socialists, a syndicalist large, a anarcho-capitalist with extra dip, a marxist-leninist, two anarcho-communists, one with molotovs, and a large liberal."

[–] Angel@hexbear.net 18 points 1 year ago

This is what I felt like doing to this user after I saw the Wikipedia link drop

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 13 points 1 year ago

I would put down Nazbolism as an example of a hilariously incoherent ideology but I don't actually want to be associated with it.

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 28 points 1 year ago

Do you disagree?

[–] Weedian@hexbear.net 27 points 1 year ago

~~AOC~~ Biden is doing what the ~~unions~~ Republicans wanted

[–] emizeko@hexbear.net 24 points 1 year ago

do you disagree?

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm convinced liberal socialtwas a bit account that grew too large and gained sentience. Which one of you was it that created that Frankenstein?

[–] Vncredleader@hexbear.net 12 points 1 year ago

Feel like shit, just want him back

[–] silent_water@hexbear.net 12 points 1 year ago
